Clifford Brown was a hard bop Jazz trumpeter who passed away at 25 back in 1954. Before that, he played with Duke Ellington and eventually formed his own group with Max Roach. This song “Yesterdays” is the first song on the album Clifford Brown with Strings. Back when I played trumpet seriously, I considered him a major influence on my sound. I should get back to playing huh?
